I absolutely love the feeling of sitting back and admiring something I've created! It's amazing to have something tangible to show for time well spent. With so many different crafts to choose from, it can be hard to know where to start. That's why I started our crafting journey with my love of creating mosaics! For Hillgrove, mosaic bird baths are a standout piece that provides our feathered friends with access to fresh water all year round.

Join us with a group of friends as we can easily accommodate up to 10 people in a session. We provide all the necessary materials and safety equipment for all courses, and no prior experience is required as we offer full guidance throughout your time with us.

Elizabeth Hemming from EH Arts is bringing her 'Mindfulness Drawing' to us at Hillgrove.
​
Elizabeth is a very talented pencil artists, she undertakes commissions, teaches and captures special moments with live portraiture at weddings.
During the 2 hour session, Elizabeth will be teaching basic pencil drawing techniques. Together, we'll all draw the same picture, which you can take home to show off your new skills.
It will be a very relaxed session of up to 10 people, no judgement.
Absolutely suitable for all, no experience required.

​Looking for a relaxing and creative activity? Join our mosaic class and discover the joy of creating unique designs with beautiful colours. I will guide you through the process and help you unleash your creativity.
The session takes a minimum of 3 hours, sometimes 4, depending on your design. There are examples to inspire you or take a look at some of the wonderful bird baths already created by our guests in the gallery at the bottom of the page.
In addition to birdbaths we now offer a unique new format. Create your very own wall art with a vase of flowers, or just your own design. The options are limitless! No need to choose now - decide on the day.

£60 per person - session lasts 3-4 hours

Please note, your finished design is left with me for grouting and can be collected within 2 weeks, although typically the following weekend.
Happy to keep longer if required.
Come and explore the art of wood burning. You will be shown how to use the wood burning pen to get the best results for your finished piece.
A wide variety of stencils are available for your use, or of course you are welcome to do your own design.
This session includes your choice of the following items, plus of course materials for you to practise with;

Serving/chopping board
Square or round coaster x 4
Small serving tray
Bottle opener & key ring

​Your finished pieces can be taken home with you on the day
Unleash your inner artist with the messy, yet beautiful, world of acrylic paint pouring at Hillgrove Nature. In this workshop, all materials are provided with lots of beautiful colours to choose from. Most importantly aprons are provided, but please don't arrive in your Sunday best!
First you will see an example of how the Dutch pour technique is created, layering paints to create your masterpiece. Then it's over to you.
You’ll get to practice on two art boards before creating your final masterpiece on canvas.
Come and get creative, and don’t worry about the mess – we’ve got you covered!
Your masterpieces will taken 48 hours to dry completely and can collected at any time to suit you.​

A resin seascape is a wonderful design that can really encapsulate the feeling of the sea. Created using layers of resin, giving it the depth and finished using a heat gun to produce the waves.
This product does take a minimum of 48 hours to dry and may still take a further month to completely harden.
Combine with the pyrography course to make a really special piece that will be a conversation starter for years to come.

£50 per person - session lasts 3 hours
Resin Dip decorations
Using the art of resin dipping in association with Inion Arts, you will create your choice of a dragonfly, flowers, or for the festive period holly and mistletoe.
​
You will make at least 4 unique pieces of resin dip art to take away with you at the end of the course. This is very different to traditional resin work you may have seen. Full tuition and all materials provided. You will be guided on how to make your chosen piece are then free to continue to make your choice for the remaining pieces.
